How to Subscribe via RSS
To read new entries via a “RSS Feed,” look for the orange icon
and click on it to subscribe.
For a short video tutorial on what RSS is, please take a look at RSS in plain English.
Here is our RSS feed: [http://feeds.feedburner.com/SmithsonianChannel]; you can subscribe to it in a browser, or by using an RSS reader.
If you’re using Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer 7, the RSS feed comes straight to your browser. Just click on the orange icon displayed in your toolbar while you’re visiting a blog, and follow the instructions.
You can also use an RSS reader, which works much like an inbox for blog postings. You can choose a web-based reader if you want to read your feeds from any computer, or you can download a reader on your computer. Below you’ll find a list of RSS readers, most of them available for free.
After signing up or downloading a reader, it’s simple to subscribe to updates: just go to the blog’s homepage, click on the link for the RSS feed, choose your reader, and subscribe.
