I was a fan from the beginning (yes, I'm a grandma now). I am really looking forward to this show, and I have already set up my TiVo. I'm sure it will bring back some great memories! (I once met a girl years ago who had been at one of the legendary concerts where the Monkees shared the bill with Jimi Hendrix. I did get to see Hendrix in concert, but that pairing must have been wild!)

Thanks for the honor of viewing the program in advance. I have to agree with the first commentor that there is nothing new here for an avid fan but it was still fun to watch even though it was cynical of the group. Also, when the Monkees took control of their music their album "Headquarters" was #1 for 1 week. The next week the Beatles Sgt. Peppers album came out and no band or album could have withstood the popularity and brillance of that LP at that time in musical history.

I remember watching this takeoff with my brother when I was still in high school, and being amazed by the national pride it inspired in me. Can't wait to look through the transcript... thanks for the links!

Just before Christmas there was an episode which featured an artist whose name I can't find on Amazon. I must have this wrong, but I remember her name being Selena James. Can someone correct me on the name so that I can purchase some of her music?

Great series!
