America’s War Stories In Honor of Veterans Day
On November 4th, a record number of people went to the polls to elect our next president. In the weeks leading up to that election, there was a lot of talk about the military and the troops and what the president-elect would do to resolve the conflict in Iraq. So it seems fitting that on Tuesday, November 11th, we honor all of America’s veterans for their willingness to serve and sacrifice for the greater good.
Veterans Day is Celebrated on November 11th
At Smithsonian Channel we are recognizing this important holiday with a special series of programs that we call “America’s War Stories” which will run for three nights in prime time (Sunday, Nov 9th through Tuesday, Nov 11th). Programs airing include “D-Day: The True Story of Omaha Beach“, “The Men Who Brought the Dawn,”, the Emmy nominated “Remembering Vietnam: The Wall at 25″ and others.
You can check out our website for scheduling information or to watch clips from the shows. In addition, since we know that there are still a fair amount of people who can’t watch Smithsonian Channel, we are streaming “Remembering Vietnam: The Wall at 25″ in its entirety, so everyone can experience this moving and long overdue look at one of the most visited memorials in America. You can watch a clip of the show below and visit our website to see the complete program.

Thank you for the wonderful program, Remembering Vietnam: The Wall at 25. I watched it today, and look forward to seeing it again. Thank you to those that served in Vietnam, and welcome home. Thank you for the positive light and image you portray of motorcycle enthusiasts. I enjoyed seeing the various patches the riders wore, and was of course VERY proud to see a Brother of mine from the U.S. Military Veterans Motorcycle Club from the state of PA. Keep it up with your great programs and excellent channel. Your High-Def programming looks too good to be true on Verizon FiOS HD, stunning image quality. Certainly among the best HD out there.
